Pink is the navy blue of India

When we started noting down a list of names of fashion photographers we’d like to feature in a series of weekly blog posts, it was almost natural to start with Norman Parkinson.

When you think fashion photography, you instantly think Parkinson, one of the most celebrated British fashion photographers in the 1900’s. His focus on shooting in dynamic outdoor settings and locales of foreign countries distinguished his work from other photographers at the time.

Seen below are a few of the many beautiful photographs that Parkinson shot in India for British Vogue in 1956. Those photographers were part of an exhibition ‘Pink is the Navy Blue of India’.
